The original request was 'all four of the marauders, Prongs on top coming forward, the other three around him some how'... So one of the preliminary sketches presented just four animals arranged in a semi-oval position. But then I got the idea that Harry Potter is such a rich universe, surely there is a better way to connect them? I submitted a simple sketch of this: Moony, Padfoot, Prongs, the Whomping Willow, and Wormtail at the 'root' of it all. It should make sense to HP fans.
But yeah, the rest is history. I absolutely loved designing this. The challenge of thinking up these ideas is part of the fun. Figuring out the proper linework is the other half of it
