Please note, I rarely check DeviantArt these days but am reachable via email (canyx_dragon@hotmail.com). Also, art is a hobby and I have a full time job that is not art related at all. This means I take commissions rarely and on a case by case basis. I truly appreciate every person who has ever thought to comment, ask questions, or send me a message. And I apologize if I'm unable to take your commission. However, it never hurts to ask! If you inquire via email you will get a fast reply.

Commission usage and info
~*~*~*~*~
What you pay me for is an original design for personal use only (ex. put it on your desktop, shirt, skin, car, cellphone... whatever!). Rights to the image are mine and you may not use the design commercially or for profit (ex. selling shirts with the design, etc.).
I may/may not decide to post the image online with/without a watermark. If you want a private design that the rest of the world will never see, I respectfully ask that you look for another commissioner. For very special cases (ex. memorial pieces, etc.) we can negotiate something, but it will be reflected in the price.
Please note that commissions before this update will not be affected; I will honor the agreements I made with my past clients.
USING AN EXISTING/COMMISSIONED DESIGN
In a perfect world, each commissioned design would only exist on the original client's body and the artist would be free to display the digital version of her work without fear of theft. In reality, given the public nature of the internet as well as the easily transformable nature of vector designs such as tribal... It would be fighting a losing battle to prevent use of my art by all but one person. So instead of messaging me for permission, here is the answer to "Can I use ______ design?"
Answer:
You may use my design for PERSONAL, non-profitable use only. That includes but is not limited to: getting a tattoo of the design, making yourself a shirt with the design, having that design as your desktop wallpaper, etc. Please give me credit for the design when applicable (ex. using it as a forum signature). Use of my design for personal reasons is free, but a donation (suggested price: $20 for use as a tattoo) would be greatly appreciated. If you are in a generous mood, the donation can be made to my paypal account: canyx_dragon@hotmail.com
You may NOT claim my design, or any part of my design, as your own or use them for profit or commercial reasons. That includes but is not limited to: selling products with my design, using my design as a template for temporary/permanent tattoos, using my design as your logo, putting my design on free giveaways, etc. I get notified of art thefts on a regular basis and do make the effort to stop them.

COMMISSION INFO
~*~*~*~*~
The process
If you're interested in commissioning me, feel free to send me an email with details about your ideas. If I'm able to take your commission I will give you a price. Once that is set, this is generally how things flow:
.I will await payment. After receiving it I will start the design process.
.I will send rough sketches with poses, ideas, or anything I feel needs to be clarified before I start designing. This step is not always necessary, and varies greatly with each commission (ex. some people have the pose already in mind)
.I will send you sketches for approval before I finalize the design. Small changes can be made at this time.
.I will finalize the design and send the file to you. Usually this is a jpeg or png file.
.I may or may not post it on deviant art, with a watermark.
Price
Starting price: $80 (USD). For a single character, tribal design. If you want a high quality vector file, the price will be higher. Sketches (ex. dog caricature) are cheaper.
The price for extra characters, more complex ideas etc. vary, but I discuss them on a case by case basis. I generally do not charge extra for color. The best way to get a quote is to run your idea by me
Payment
Paypal, preferably. If that is absolutely impossible I can talk other options.
How long will it take?
For obvious reasons, I don't start designing before I get my pay. After that, it depends on the scope of the project and how quickly the client communicates through email. A single character tattoo design will usually take 2-3 weeks.
After the process
During the designing process, I keep every email and note between me and my client, from approvals of the rough drafts to payment receipts. After I send you the final version, the transaction is over and I will usually delete all those emails and notes a few days later so that my inbox is not cluttered.
By commissioning me, I will assume you have read this and understand that any changes that ought to be made were made during the designing process, that you approve of the final design, and that you cannot come back to me later on and request changes, lodge a complaint about the design, ask for a refund etc. This has not happened yet in the many years I have been doing this, but it's never a bad idea to make this transparent from the start

Artists' rights - When your work is stolen
Hi all!
I don't draw much these days. But the unpleasant reality is that my work is still continuously being stolen and used without permission. This post addresses what you can do as an artist to seek justice.
1. Register all your work with the US copyright office. Sorry if you are from a different country; I am only familiar with where I live. The link below may help though.
2. If you see your work stolen, take screenshots of everything.
3. You may choose to politely ask that your work be taken down. I usually go this route because, again, I don't think the majority of thieves are malicious, just ignorant.
4. If they decline or if you
Artists' rights-What you can do to stop art theft
Anything you draw belongs to you. Anything you photograph belongs to you. Anything you create belongs to you. No one has any right to take, use, sell, or modify any portion of your art without your permission.
----------------------------------------------
I have seen too much of it. ‘World class’ jewelry companies stealing designs from interviewees whose portfolios they’ve seen but chosen not to hire. Multi-million (or billion) dollar gaming industries whose graphic design team rips tribal designs off the internet for their characters.
Every. Single. Day… Unsuspecting or uncaring users of t-shirt and swag websit
Graphite Dog
I've been working on a side art project. Most of my work here is tribal art or doodles... But for a long time I've wanted to create a separate space to share and promote my dog drawings. This idea has been running around my mind for over a year and only recently have I had the time to sit down with a web developer to make it real.
So for you dog lovers out there, enjoy!
https://www.facebook.com/graphitedog
The actual website link is there. But I might be posting chances to win free dog art on my Facebook, if that is of any interest.
Cheers!

Back!
WELL HELLO THERE.
I have just returned from my trip and am in the process of responding to notes, commission requests, and everything else on DeviantArt as well as in real life. I want to extend a huge thank you for your patience and also to people who still went out of their way to notify me of art theft.
If you have written to me with a commission request or question, and don't receive a reply by Oct 10 (give me a week's time), please feel free to shoot me another note or email. Chances are yours got lost in the thick of things.
Cheers!

I posted a request on here yesterday on your front page comments section and just saw the no requests thing this morning. But it would still really mean a lot to me if you would do that for us. I'll pay you. If you could even do a quick 5 minute sketch and send it to me in any way (or post it on here) to let me see what you'd come up with for the design, I'd really appreciate it.
